Imgur user Hahahah1111111 have been posting the pictures after realizing her hospital food in Japan wasn’t the typical steamed veggies and bowl of mush.
The meals were given to the woman during the duration of her stay in the maternity ward. This food is probably also served in Japan’s restaurants.
First meal was omuraisu (fried rice wrapped in an omelette and topped with ketchup), macaroni salad, chicken soup, squid rings, fruit, and green tea.
In the black bowl is mushroom pasta next to some potato salad, a broccoli, and bacon salad, chicken soup, fruit, bread and green tea.
Crispy chicken fingers with shredded cabbage salad, bitter melon stir fry, agedashi tofu, carrot salad, rice and some miso soup.
Salmon, a side of tofu, a green bean salad, natto, miso soup, rice, and milk.
Fried fish with tartar sauce is mouthwatering. Hijiki (a type of seaweed) salad, spinach and carrot stir fry, a large of helping of rice and some green tea. This meal is perfection.
Roast beef, Camembert (a type of cow’s milk cheese), raisins, mashed potatoes, kabocha (Japanese winter squash), lotus root with gravy, corn soup, rice, salad, tiramisu, fruit, orange juice and green tea. The choices are so various that you don’t know where to start!
Chicken with mushroom sauce, braised pumpkin and pork, daikon carrot salad, rice, miso soup and chawanmushi, an egg custard dish.
This meal consists of cod, shredded cabbage salad, rice, pasta salad, sweet potato, and peas. If I were a hospital in Europe or USA, I would be ashamed.
Here we have salmon with mushroom sauce, soba noodles, rice, eggplant and beef, broccoli and more hijiki salad.
Konbu salad, natto, spinach salad, miso soup, rice, milk and green tea that comes with it.
Braised vegetables, niku jaga (meat and potatoes), cucumber and baby corn salad, rice, miso soup and the usual green tea.
Here we can see sea bream, pasta salad, chicken meatballs, pickled daikon, rice, miso soup and because that isn’t enough, chawanmushi.
